Born in 2003 and raised in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, my journey into ceramics began at Dharamkot Studio, where I started out behind the scenes, in the kitchen and helping with clay recycling and material preparation. Being around makers every day slowly pulled me toward the studio floor, and what began as curiosity turned into a real passion for working with clay.

As I kept practicing, I learned wheel throwing and built up my skills over time. The studio noticed my commitment to the craft and trained me further, and I was eventually promoted to take on more responsibility. Today, I’m part of the teaching team, working as a pottery class instructor while also handling glazing and firing for the studio, all while continuing to grow my own practice. My current work centers on wheel-thrown functional tableware, simple and durable pieces meant to become part of everyday use. I’m especially drawn to clean, geometric forms on the wheel, where precision and balance come together.

Artist Statement: Nature sits at the heart of what I make. I find inspiration in the quiet rhythm of the mountains, the changing seasons, and the organic forms found in the natural world. These influences shape the silhouettes, proportions, and small details of my work, letting each piece feel grounded and unforced. At the same time, I’m drawn to the discipline of geometric forms on the wheel, the way a clean line or a balanced curve can hold as much presence as something more organic.

While my current focus is functional tableware, I’m continually pushing toward larger forms, working on bigger vases and sculptural pieces. I like testing the limits of the wheel and learning how scale changes both the making process and the presence of an object once it’s finished.
