Focusing on the traditional ‘coil’ method, this collection showcases a contemporary take on one of the fundamental practices within ceramic art making. ‘Coil Sculpture Collection’ is made up of three sculptures for which the artist has exaggerated the structure of the coil by adding deep lines and ridges to show the internal workings of this handbuilding method. Glazed with a thin layer of blue gloss coating, the terracotta clay is exposed adding greater attraction to the ridges highlighting the central factor to the construction of this work.
