Anatomy Under Pressure explores the relationship between the human body and the forces that shape it. Built from layered slabs of stoneware, the sculpture captures the figure as though it has been stretched, compressed, and transformed by pressure, revealing a form that exists between the familiar and the abstract.

Rather than depicting anatomy with precision, the work investigates its fragility and resilience. Each folded layer records the movement of soft clay before it is permanently fixed through the firing process, preserving a moment of tension in a material that is both vulnerable and enduring.
The surface is intentionally left expressive, allowing subtle variations in texture and glaze to emphasize the history of the making process. Fired at high temperature, the once pliable clay becomes a lasting record of pressure—an object that reflects the physical and emotional forces that shape the human experience.
